In-Car Cameras
The purpose of in-car video recording is to establish an audio and video recording that is admissible in court as evidence to augment officer investigations.
In the mid 1990's some Michigan State Police work sites began to receive in-car video systems via a grant from the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning. A State of Michigan contract for the purchase of in-car video systems was secured by the Michigan State Police through the Michigan Department of Management and Budget with Digital Ally, Inc. It is also made available to local units of government.
