Basic LEIN Training Gaylord Jays Sporting Goods
We will be holding an in person Basic LEIN Operator Training on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 from 9 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Basic LEIN Operator Training is for agencies that have direct access to the LEIN and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC). This course targets new LEIN users, including:
• Dispatchers
• Law enforcement staff
• Corrections staff
• Probation staff
•h Parole staff
• Prosecutor staff
Basic LEIN Operator Training will provide a basic understanding of LEIN and NCIC queries and responses, including the following:
• Access and dissemination policy
• Password use
• Wanted persons
• Missing persons
• Personal protection orders
• Stolen vehicles
• Driver and vehicle records
• Criminal history records
• Administrative messages
LEIN and NCIC policies require all operators to be certified within six months of hire and recertified every two years thereafter. The LEIN certification test is administered by the agency’s Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) and will not be given during this class.

Attendees will be given the needed class link the week before the training.
