Purses With a Purpose - Iron Mountain

The Michigan State Police Iron Mountain is gathering new and gently used purses and bags filled with comfort items to benefit survivors of sexual assault. Suggested items include toiletries, feminine hygiene products socks and undergarments, snacks, stuffed animals and gift cards.

Donations are being accepted through April, which is Sexual Assault Awareness Month, at the Iron Mountain Post located at 1916 N. Stephenson Ave Iron Mountain, MI 49801. The post hours are M-F from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The purses stuffed with items will benefit the Caring House Domestic Violence Shelter, to be distributed to survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence in Iron and Dickinson Counties
