Seventh District Command Staff Placed on Admin Leave
March 11, 2020
March 10, 2020
On Monday, March 9, 2020, the Michigan State Police (MSP) Seventh District Commander and Seventh District Assistant Commander were placed on administrative leave as the result of an internal MSP investigation that revealed they violated department policy related to the promotion and selection process.
The MSP has a long-standing tradition of demanding the highest possible standards of professional conduct from its enlisted and civilian members. To that end, all allegations of misconduct are aggressively investigated. Policy violations are investigated thoroughly and acted upon in a manner consistent with labor law and collective bargaining agreements.
These members will remain on administrative leave pending the completion of the discipline process.
In the interim, the Sixth District Commander will serve as the acting commander in the Seventh District.
The MSP Seventh District covers 19 counties in northern lower Michigan.
