'Stuff a Blue Goose' Continues MSP Tradition of Giving

The Michigan State Police's Stuff a Blue Goose campaign is a holiday favorite for us. Not only do the communities we serve benefit from the toys and food that are collected during this unique effort, but it also reminds us how much people care and how connected we all are.

At the Sault Ste. Marie Post, Community Service Trooper Cody Mayer spearheaded something new this year and it turned out to be a huge success.

For nearly two weeks, an MSP patrol vehicle, known affectionately as a 'Blue Goose', was stationed inside three area car dealerships, O'Connor's, Rodenroth Motors and Soo Motors, to see who could collect the most donations.

In total, this friendly competition brought in well over 2,000 gifts! Soo Motors "won" the competition and will receive a plaque from the post.

Trooper Mayer enlisted the help of Ms. Erica Stempky of the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to make sure the donations are routed to area families who could use a little extra help this holiday season.
