Wednesday, March 24, marked Equal Pay Day in the US, raising awareness about the pervasive gender wage gap. At this virtual event, the Michigan Bureau of Labor Market Information and Strategic Initiatives unveiled Women in the Michigan Workforce, a report on the pay gap for Michigan women and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Michigan women's employment.
Following the report, Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Julie Chávez Rodriguez discussed initiatives to address pay equity and women's economic recovery at the state and federal levels.
