Roots and Wings: An Honest Conversation about the Needs of Women and Children

Date:  September 28, 2021
Time:  04:00 PM - 05:00 PM

If you're a working mom, the hours between the end of school and the end of the workday can bring a lot of anxiety. Many of us work until close to dinnertime, and those hours at the end of the day are stressful if we're worried about what our children are doing.

Fortunately, there are many high-quality, affordable afterschool programs available to provide much-needed relief and support to Michigan mothers. In this one-of-a-kind session, we'll explore:

Why community-based afterschool programs are great for providing valuable connections for children to knowledge, growth and important adult relationships.

How to alleviate "mommy guilt" by finding and accessing afterschool opportunities near you.

How we can work with policymakers to fund and create more opportunities for more children and families.
