Outdoor Adventure Center - Rum-Running Stories
Outdoor Adventure Center - Rum-Running Stories
The Detroit River was a pretty busy place during Prohibition. With tremendous amounts of illegal liquor entering the United States from Canada during the 1920s and early 1930s, stories abound. Join some young “old timers” as we travel back to the era of blind pigs, rum-running and panther sweat.
Participants are urged to dress for the occasion in period-style clothing and tell a few stories of their own! Our friends from the Lake Erie Metropark Marshlands Museum are joining us to present this fascinating program.
The doors to the Outdoor Adventure Center will open at 6 p.m. for guests to explore the building before the program starts at 6:30 p.m.
This event is open to those 21 and older and is sponsored by Friends of the OAC. Beer, wine, nonalcoholic beverages and light snacks will be provided.
Fee: $20 per person. Preregistration required. This program is subject to cancelation if minimum enrollment is not reached.
