During this monthly series for active aging adults, participants will have opportunities to meet our on-site educators, listen to guest presenters and take part in various natural resource-themed activities. All programs begin at 9 a.m. and include pastries, coffee and tea upon entry. At 9:30 a.m., presentations will begin, so sit back and enjoy your snack during an exciting and informative program, then wrap up with time to explore the OAC exhibits.

Fee: $8 per person; preregistration required. Payment can be made for groups or individuals.

In March, celebrate one of Michigan's tastiest natural resources during a hands-on program! We'll explore the adaptations that make the marvelous maple sap so sweet and learn about Michigan's maple syrup industry through history. End the experience with a tasting of local syrup.

This program is indoors and outdoors – dress for the weather. This program includes a short walk to observe different types of trees at Milliken State Park. The walk will be approximately a quarter-mile in length, along a linear paved path at Milliken State Park. We will hike along the Detroit River – be prepared for windy conditions.

This walk will occur rain or shine – note that we will cancel the walk portion of the program in case of inclement weather including lightning.
