If you worked at a Michigan community college before July 1, 2014, while attending as a part-time student, you may be eligible to participate in a Michigan public school retirement plan. Or if this describes you and you’re already in a Michigan public school retirement plan, you may have an opportunity to add that community college employment to your retirement account.
Your Next Steps
If you worked at a Michigan community college before July 1, 2014, as a part-time student, and you’re interested in learning if you qualify:
- Print and fill out the Part-Time Community College Student Employment Verification Request (R3800C) form
- Send the completed form and required documents to the Michigan Office of Retirement Services (ORS) by January 31, 2020, 5 p.m. EST.
- Fax the form and documents to ORS at 517-284-4416.
