The private training course you select will have a set published tuition. If the program you select is eligible for scholarship funds from the federal Pell grant program, you will need to apply for a Pell grant by submitting a FAFSA. If you receive a Pell grant, that money is deducted from your total tuition first. If your tuition bill is less than $1,500 after the Pell grant is deducted, your Skills Scholarship will pay the difference. If your tuition bill is $1,500 or more after receiving a Pell grant or if you don’t receive one, your Skills Scholarship will pay $1,500 of your tuition bill. The Skills Scholarship is a one-time grant.
