    "It is a big dream and a great opportunity to receive free tuition and to prove my skills and do everything good to serve and help the patients as much as I can." - Sandra, Roseville, MI

    Sandra has been a U.S. citizen for 4 years and currently works at Tim Hortons.

    She studied at a Technical College in Mosul-Iraq in 2013 and is interested in continuing her education here. She would love to get her associates degree in the medical field.

    “Free tuition means I can finally finish my degree I have been wanting!” - Lance, Portage, MI

    Lance works as a manager at a family owned pizza shop. Him and his fiance’ worked throughout the pandemic to provide for them and their four children.

    He plans on pursuing a degree in business management so that one day he can buy the pizza shop that he currently runs.

  • Alecia Ellis

     

    "Free tuition means everything to me. I want to be able to give my daughter the security and stability I never had as a child. I feel a degree will help me with not just making my life better, but my families life better as well." - Alecia, Jackson, MI

    Alecia has worked at Flagstar Bank for over 5 years. She is the mother of a ten month old daughter named Ava. 

    She plans on switching career paths to the medical field. Ellis wants to make a difference in people's lives.

    Erica is a single mother of an 8-year-old son and has been working as a paramedic since 2006.

    She plans on applying to nursing programs as to continue her current path in the medical field.

    “Helping people is my passion and I want to be in a field where I can effect change.” - Lisa, Detroit, MI

    Lisa is a mother of two and grandmother to four children. She has worked for the Neighborhood Service Organization as a Certified Peer Support Specialist throughout the pandemic.

    She would like to pursue a career in social work so she can help others.
