Thank you to everyone who attended this year's event on the Capitol Lawn. Thanks to the generosity of more than 350 attendees and our generous sponsors, we were able to raise more than $12,400! This money will help make the dream of college a reality for students who otherwise may lack resources to pursue higher education when they age out of the foster care system.

Thank you also to the Treasury Black History Month Committee for partnering with us to raise money for the Fostering Futures Scholarship while also celebrating Juneteenth.

The Pillow Effect

Again, this year the Michigan Youth Opportunities Initiative (MYOI) collected NEW pillows and pillowcases. More than 100 pillows were collected at this year's event! MYOI decorates the pillowcases with inspirational pictures and quotes. Pillows and pillowcases are given to children who are entering foster care.

Donate online using a credit card or to make a donation by check, complete and submit the Fostering Futures Scholarship Contribution Form along with a check made payable to the State of Michigan - Fostering Futures Scholarship.

Contributions made by December 31 are eligible for a tax deduction on your federal and state income tax form in the year they are made.
