LANSING, Mich. – Gov. Rick Snyder today announced Jon Nunn will be joining the Executive Office as a Special Projects Advisor, primarily concentrating on West Michigan.
Nunn’s work will focus on opportunities for increased partnerships with local municipalities, nonprofit organizations, business leaders and stakeholders to spur economic development.
“I’m excited Jon will be joining our team,” Snyder said. “I’m confident his background and experience will be a great asset as he works to ensure all of West Michigan continues to thrive and take advantage of the state’s comeback.”
Nunn, of Grand Rapids, served for 25 years as a board member of Grand Action in Grand Rapids. Grand Action was a nonprofit corporation established to build support for construction and development of commercial projects in downtown Grand Rapids such as DeVos Place and the Van Andel Arena. Nunn also serves on the Michigan Travel Commission and the Experience Grand Rapids Executive Committee.
He holds a bachelor's degree in public administration and a master's degree in Communications Arts and Sciences from Western Michigan University.
Nunn will begin his new role May 21, 2018.
