August 2, 2019 -- Drivers on M-94 in the Chatham area should expect lane closures and brief delays beginning next week as a major utility project gets under way.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 5, traffic will be disrupted on M-94 between Onota and Munising streets in the village of Chatham for major sanitary sewer improvement work. One lane of alternating traffic will be open using a combination of temporary traffic signals and traffic regulators.
Traffic impacts are expected to last for about one month. Motorists are reminded to slow down and drive with caution in the work zone.
Under a permit from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), the village is investing approximately $1.2 million to replace components of the aging sanitary sewer system.
