LANSING, Mich. – A portion of Highway M-13 in Kawkawlin Township will be known as the “PFC Alan Robert Blohm Memorial Highway” under legislation signed today by Gov. Rick Snyder.
“PFC Blohm was dedicated to his community and country and this memorial highway is a fitting way to honor his service and sacrifice,” Snyder said.
PFC Alan Robert Blohm was born in Kawkawlin, Michigan and joined the Army in September 2005. PFC Blohm was deployed to Iraq in October 2006 and was killed in action later that year.
Senate bill 963, sponsored by state Sen. Mike Green, amends the Michigan Memorial Highway Act to designate the portion of Highway M-13 in Kawkawlin Township as the “PFC Alan Robert Blohm Memorial Highway.” The bill is now Public Act 358 of 2018.
