October 13, 2021 - The Dept. of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), Child Care Licensing Bureau (CCLB), has summarily suspended and issued a notice of intent to revoke the family child care home license of Jennifer Kruisenga, located at 10698 Finkbeiner Road, in Middleville.

The complaint investigation that concluded on October 11, 2021, found violations of the Child Care Organizations Act and administrative rules, including but not limited to the following:

  • Lack of appropriate care and supervision
  • Provider's conduciveness to the welfare of children
  • Failure to transport children using child restraint devices

Effective October 11, 2021, the summary suspension order prohibits Kruisenga from operating a family child care home at 10698 Finkbeiner Road, in Middleville, or at any other address or location. Accordingly, she may not accept children for care after that date and time. The order also requires the licensee to inform all parents of children in her care that the license has been suspended and that she can no longer provide child care.

It was critical to take emergency action to protect the health, welfare, and safety of the children at this family child care home.

Since LARA has summarily suspended the license, an administrative hearing will promptly be scheduled before an administrative law judge with the Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules.
