Public meeting June 21 for M-72 project west of Grayling in 2019

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting an open house to discuss a 2019 road improvement project on M-72 in Crawford County from M-93 to the Kalkaska County line, with some pre-project preparations taking place this fall.

The public is encouraged to drop in any time during the open house to review displays about project plans. This meeting will be an opportunity for residents, commuters, organizations, agencies, and business owners to ask questions and provide comments to MDOT staff.

This 2019 road improvement project includes rebuilding M-72 from M-93 to the Crawford/Kalkaska county line, as well as replacing culverts and making miscellaneous safety and drainage improvements.

This fall, MDOT will widen the paved shoulders of M-72 near Lake Shore Drive to help maintain traffic during the 2019 work, as well as remove trees. This work will begin in September and be completed by the end of November.
