OVERALL PROJECT END DATE:
The Michigan Department of Transportation continues to "Restore the Reuther" with this weekend's closure of westbound I-696 from Dequindre Road to US-24 (Telegraph Road). This is the third of four planned weekend closures for this segment before crews move to another segment in Oakland County.
MDOT reminds the public that I-696 repairs in Oakland County only involve lane closures during overnights for saw cutting and weekend closures to remove concrete sections and pour new concrete, along with joint repairs. Otherwise, all lanes of I-696 in Oakland County remain open weekdays from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
This weekend closure is in addition to the long-term closure in Macomb County that began in April from I-94 to Dequindre Road and remains in place through November.

Beginning at 9 p.m. Friday, westbound I-696 will be closed from Dequindre Road to US-24 (Telegraph Road), along with all entrance ramps, until 5 a.m. Monday. The first entrance for westbound I-696 will be at US-24 (Telegraph Road).
Detour: I-75 to westbound M-102 (8 Mile Road) to northbound M-10 to US-24 (Telegraph Road).
Eastbound I-696 remains open in Oakland and Macomb counties.
Go to www.MovingMacomb.org for project details, construction, schedules, lane closures, etc.
Note: MDOT will also be closing I-94 between Conner Avenue and I-75 in Detroit for bridge work from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday. During this closure, westbound I-94 through-traffic will be detoured to westbound M-102 (Eight Mile Road) to southbound I-75 and back to westbound I-94.
