Fall construction closures to affect reservations at F.J. McLain State Park in Houghton County

Agency: Natural Resources

June 15, 2018

F.J. McLain State Park in Houghton County will be undergoing a major construction project, starting after Labor Day weekend 2018. Given a variety of safety concerns, we must close the day-use area and sections of the campground. Due to these closures there will be no new reservations made for Sept. 4 through the end of the camping season, which is Nov. 1, 2018. However, a limited number of sites will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. We appreciate the public's patience and understanding as we work to repair and prevent shoreline erosion damage and improve our infrastructure at this beautiful Michigan state park.
