The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $4.1 million to resurface more than 13 miles of northbound I-75, from Lincoln Road to the Ogemaw County line.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:                     
Motorists should expect single-lane closures during paving. The ramps at Sterling Road and M-33 (Alger Road) will be closed and detoured for joint repairs and paving.

Monday, April 29
Northbound I-75 will be closed at M-33 (Alger Road) for joint repairs. Posted detours:

  • The off ramp will be detoured via Cook Road (West Branch exit), southbound I-75, and M-33.
  • The on ramp will be detoured via southbound I-75, Sterling Road, and northbound I-75.

Tuesday, April 30
Northbound I-75 will be closed at Sterling Road for approximately two weeks for concrete repairs. Detours:

  • The off ramp will be detoured via M-33, southbound I-75, and Sterling Road
  • The on ramp will be detoured via southbound I-75, M-61, and northbound I-75

Additional ramp closures can be expected during paving. Those closures will be announced in advance of their start.

This work will provide a smoother driving surface on northbound I-75 and extend the life of the roadway.
