Assessor
The Assessor Certification process is under the direct control of the State Tax Commission. Since the application process is complex (e.g., certification requires an educational commitment of either six months or one year depending on the level, with an online/lecture hybrid program, self-study, viewing web presentations, and testing throughout the program) interested parties are encouraged to review the process in detail by reading How to Become a Certified Assessor in the State of Michigan.
If questions remain after reviewing the information on these sites, the State tax Commission can be contacted through their website at www.michigan.gov/statetaxcommission
