Non-emergency care vehicles taking patients to medical care appointments in exchange for compensation must obtain a license from the State of Michigan.
Vehicles carrying 1-8 passengers, including the driver are licensed by the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) and a license can be obtained by calling 517-241-9221. Additional information can be found at www.Michigan.gov/TNC.
Vehicles carrying 9 passengers or more, including the driver are licensed by the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and a license can be obtained by calling 517-241-0679. The license application and additional information can be found at www.Michigan.gov/BusAndLimo.
