Secretary of State mobile office open for business at Upper Peninsula State Fair

Visitors can register to vote, renew tabs at full-service office
LANSING, Mich. – The Secretary of State mobile office is open for business at the Upper Peninsula State Fair, Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced today.
"This is a great opportunity to take a few minutes to register to vote, if you're not already registered," said Johnson. "You can also renew your license plate tabs and still have time to ride all the rides. It's fast and easy!"
The state fairgrounds are located at 2401 12th Avenue North in Escanaba. The full-service branch will offer all transactions currently available in a standard branch office. Hours are as follows:
- Tuesday, Aug. 14 - Saturday, Aug. 18 – a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Sunday, Aug. 19 – 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This visit is part of Johnson's ongoing efforts to encourage voter participation and to streamline services. Staff will be available to answer questions about voter ID, absentee ballots, locating a sample ballot and finding their polling place.
