Mohawk Secretary of State office now open twice a week
Secretary of State Ruth Johnson reminds residents that the Mohawk office now is open two days a week instead of one.
The office at 3616 U.S. Highway 41 now is open Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of October, when it returns to service one day a week as it adjusts to the lower seasonal business volume.
Hours remain 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The office closes for lunch from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. both days.
The Mohawk office opened in January 1999 and is the first full-service Secretary of State office in Keweenaw County.
Customers renewing driver's licenses, state IDs or license plate tabs also can do business by mail, or if eligible, online at www.expresssos.com. Easy to follow instructions are on the renewal notice. License plate tabs will arrive by mail within seven business days.
