Customers urged to do business online or at alternative offices

FLINT, Mich. – Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced today that the Flint Area SUPER!Center, 5512 Fenton Road, will be remodeled Feb. 8-13 with new customer-friendly improvements as part of her commitment to better serving Genesee County customers.

Customers and staff will benefit from renovations that include a larger lobby, an additional MI-TIME Line kiosk, a new customer-friendly counter design, new carpet and an expanded area for Commercial Driver’s License testing. The office is expected to reopen at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 16 – the day after the Presidents Day holiday.

“The features that this remodeling project will bring are part of our commitment to continuously improving and providing convenient customer service while being efficient with taxpayer dollars,” Johnson said. “Area residents now can do many transactions with us online at but when they do visit, they can enjoy the benefits of an updated Flint Area SUPER!Center.” offers a convenient alternative for renewing license plates, driver’s licenses and state ID cards. Online license plate renewal allows customers to “print-n-go” by printing a copy of their new registration to use until their tabs arrive in the mail. Easy-to-follow instructions can be found with the renewal notice. Additional services can be done online as well.

Area residents who need Secretary of State services during the remodeling period also may visit the next closest offices:

The Downtown Flint office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Davison office is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The North Oakland County and Shiawassee County PLUS offices are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday; and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
