Renew your watercraft, driver's license at Detroit Boat Show
FEBRUARY 8, 2016
Secretary of State offers full-service Mobile Office
DETROIT, Mich. – Visitors to the Detroit Boat Show will have the opportunity to take advantage of the convenience of the Secretary of State Mobile Office as they view the latest watercraft, Secretary of State Ruth Johnson announced today.
“We’re pleased to return to one of the largest boat shows in the state, which means quick and easy service is available to you right on the spot,” said Johnson. “Renew your watercraft registration at the same time you renew your vehicle license plate tabs or your driver’s license. Think spring and stop by!”
The Mobile Office will be open during the show’s public days, which run Feb. 13 through Feb. 21 at Cobo Center, 1 Washington Blvd. in Detroit. Customers can register to vote, get replacement titles and do all the business of a brick-and-mortar office. Visitors can also sign up for text or email reminders about voting and renewing license-plate tabs.
The Secretary of State’s Office mails out watercraft registration renewal notices in March.
“It is always great having the Secretary of State’s Mobile Office at the Detroit Boat Show each year,” said show manager Nicki Polan. “It provides one more convenience to the one-stop-shopping experience the show offers. We are expecting more than 50,000 boating enthusiasts to attend the show. They will be ready to shop the latest and greatest boats, products and services. I’m sure the SOS Mobile Office will be quite busy.”
The show includes more than 100 watercraft dealers and marine businesses.
