LANSING, Mich. - Secretary of State Ruth Johnson reminds residents that, as of Nov. 1, the Mohawk office has returned to one-day-a-week service instead of two as it adjusts to seasonal business volume.
The office at 3616 U.S. Highway 41 is now open on Thursdays only. Hours remain 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a lunch closure from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The office will be open on Wednesday, Nov. 22 due to the Thanksgiving closure the next day.
The Mohawk office opened in January 1999 and is the first full-service Secretary of State office in Keweenaw County.
Customers renewing driver’s licenses, state IDs or license plate tabs are encouraged to hop online to ExpressSOS.com to conduct their business. Easy to follow instructions are on the renewal notice. License plate tabs will arrive by mail within 14 business days. Renewals may also be submitted by mail or in person at a Secretary of State office.
