What do I need to bring for my motorcycle safety course?

For the Basic RiderCourse (BRC,) you will need to bring a driver's license or photo identification, a U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) approved helmet, eye protection, long sleeved shirt and long pants, full-fingered gloves, and leather boots that cover your ankles. For the advanced courses (BRC2, RRBRC, ARC) you will need all of the above, plus your own road-worthy motorcycle and valid proof of insurance. Check with your course sponsor at the time you register for more information. See Training Locator Page for more information.

If you did not find the information you need, enter a descriptive word or phrase in the Search field located in the upper right corner. Or send us an e-mail by clicking on "Contact the Secretary of State" also in the upper right corner and we will help you get the information you need.
