First-time Michigan voters are not required to present a Michigan driver’s license or state ID card when registering to vote. Michigan residents can register to vote in person anytime up to and on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020 at their local clerk’s office. When registering to vote, new Michigan residents will be asked to provide identification and one document (paper or electronic copy) with their name, Michigan address, and proof of no fewer than 30 days of residency in the city or township where they wish to register and vote prior to the General Election, such as:
