How is the Michigan Department of State ensuring the safety of customers and staff at branch offices during the pandemic?

Pursuant to an order issued by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS), as of June 22, 2021, customers aren't required to wear a face covering while in the branch office. Branch office staff will continue to wear a proper face covering, in compliance with rules issued by the Michigan Occupational Health and Safety Administration (MIOSHA), and we remain committed to enforcing hygiene and sanitation practices at all Secretary of State branch offices. Customers are still encouraged to practice social distancing.

Customers feeling unwell should cancel their appointment and stay home if they are exhibiting signs of illness. It is recommended that customers come alone, without companions, unless it is necessary to complete their transaction. A greeter at the branch will confirm the customer's arrival at the time of their appointment.
