The Michigan Gaming Control Board (Board) automatically exempts an entity providing less than $15,000 of nongaming goods and services, to a casino licensee.
An entity providing greater than $15,000 of nongaming goods and services may submit a nongaming vendor exemption application and $200 application fee. Each entity granted a vendor exemption may provide nongaming goods or services to a single casino licensee for up to $300,000 in any 12-month rolling period or $600,000 in any 12-month rolling period to two or more casino licensees.
Each entity granted an exemption will receive an approval notification and appear on the Michigan Gaming Control Board website. Each entity is required to renew its exemption on an annual basis. The entity will receive a notification 60 days prior to the expiration of the exemption.

Non-Gaming Vendor Exemption (Renewal Application Process)
Annual renewal notices will be sent by our office no later than 60 days prior to the anniversary date of the vendor exemption. Your exemption will expire on the 1st day after the renewal date of each year unless a Vendor Renewal Application is submitted to our office no later than the renewal date.
The Michigan Gaming Control Board requires each entity to renew its vendor exemption at the end of a 1-year period to remain active.
The renewal application may be submitted online through the Michigan Business One Stop portal. The $100 application fee of may also be paid online.
The application may be made through the Michigan Business One Stop portal. Alternatively, you may download the renewal application from our website and mail the application with payment for the application fee.
Application may be made through the Michigan Business One Stop portal by completing the task for the Nongaming Vendor Exemption. Select/add the appropriate task to/from your My WorkSpace, complete the online application form and submit to your shopping cart. After you pay for your shopping cart, the application is electronically sent to the Michigan Gaming Control Board for processing. You will receive an electronic notification in your My Status notifications when the application is processed.
It takes approximately 30 business days to process the renewal application. You will receive a notification the vendor exemption has been renewed for a 1-year period.
Resolution 2012-01 permits a person or entity to hold a vendor exemption to provide non-gaming related goods and services to a casino license.

Change in Ownership
If the entity holding an exemption was recently purchased and/or the FEIN has changed, contact the Michigan Gaming Control Board at (313) 456-1501, prior to completing the application.
Initial Application: A $200 initial application fee is required to cover the cost of the background check.
Renewal Application: A $100 renewal application fee is required to cover the cost of the background check.
