May 23, 2017 - Michigan employers will have an opportunity to learn more about the state’s unemployment insurance tax and benefit programs at free seminars that will be held around the state through September.
The first of the 2017 Employer Seminars, presented by the Talent Investment Agency, will be held in Ann Arbor on June 7 at Washtenaw Community College, Morris Lawrence Building, 4800 Huron River Drive. Each seminar begins at 8 a.m. and concludes at noon.
The seminars will offer three one-hour sessions, with a 30 minute period for individual questions after each session. Each session will feature general information, including how to navigate the Michigan Web Account Manager (MiWAM) system, and questions forwarded in advance by employers. Attendees may submit questions prior to the event via email to firstname.lastname@example.org with 2017 Employer Seminar in the subject line.
The seminars will also feature a brief overview by Michigan Works! of services available to employers to assist in meeting their labor force needs. In addition, there will be an agent on site to provide information about Michigan’s Work Share program, which helps companies avoid layoffs and keep their skilled employees working,
A total of 15 seminars will be held from Detroit to Marquette. Employers can find dates and locations as well as a link to online registration for each seminar on the UIA website at www.michigan.gov/uia.
