Rey Guzman is a Talent Development Liaison for the State of Michigan’s Talent Investment Agency. In this role, he is responsible for engaging employers and educators to comprehensively address talent needs to focus on mid- and long-term development skill gaps in key industries in each region statewide.
He serves as TIA’s point of contact with the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD). In this role, Guzman assists with agriculture talent strategies in the State of Michigan by promoting the skills, energy and entrepreneurial spirit in our agriculture communities.
Guzman has worked in a variety of capacities in Michigan state government, including as a TAA Coordinator for TIA’s Trade Adjustment Assistance; a Regional Business Services Representative for Michigan Rehabilitation Services; a Finance Analyst for the Bond Finance Division of the Michigan Department of Treasury; and as a School Services Representative for the Higher Education Student Financial Services Division of the Michigan Department of Treasury. He is the recipient of the Michigan Works! Association 2018 Impact Award; two Good Government Coin Recognition Awards (2015 and 2018); the Michigan Rehabilitation Services Certificate of Excellence Award; and a Certificate of Appreciation from the No Worker Left Behind program.
Guzman, a graduate of Michigan State University, currently serves as a board member for Capital Area Michigan Works! and as a member of the Office of New Americans – Agriculture Strategy Workgroup.
