Michigan Tree Fruit Commission

Pursuant to the "Agricultural Commodities Marketing Act," 1965 PA 232 MCL 290.651 - MCL 290, and the provisions or procedures the marketing and handling in any manner, of Michigan's tree fruit Industry in the channels of trade, and hereby prescribed. This program is developed for the purpose of improving the economic position and competitiveness of the Michigan tree fruit industry.
The Michigan Tree Fruit Commission consists of nine fruit grower members: three members from District No. 1; four members from District No. 2; two Members from District No. 3 Members are appointed by the Governor from a list of nominations submitted by Michigan State Horticulture Society. Members serve three-year terms and their appointments are not subject to the consent of the Senate. The Director of the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Director of the Michigan State University AgBioResearch shall serve as ex officio members without a vote.
