General Industry Safety Standards Commission

Recent legislation passed by the state legislature and signed by the Governor has reformed the Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Act (MIOSHA) by eliminating the General Industry Safety Standards Commission, the Occupational Health Standards Commission, and the Construction Safety Standards Commission. This package of four bills - SB 1335, SB 1336, HB 5917 and HB 5922 - were signed by the Governor as of Thursday, December 27, 2012. All four bills were passed by the legislature with immediate effect, meaning that the provisions of these bills are now effective.
