Michigan Board of Licensed Midwifery

 Housed within the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs, in conjunction with LARA, will establish and implement the licensure program for the practice of midwifery in the state. The Board of Licensed Midwifery consists of 12 members: 7 midwives, 1 certified nurse midwife, 1 physician who is board certified as an obstetrician-gynecologist, 1 physician who is board certified as a pediatrician, 2 members of the general public, 1 of whom is a consumer of midwifery care. Members will serve a four-year term and are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
