Michigan Economic Growth Authority (MEGA) Board

The MEGA Board was created by P.A. 24 of 1995 and has the broad authority to promote economic growth and job creation and to redevelop brownfield sites in Michigan. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) serves as staff to the MEGA Board and administers the activities and programs. This 8 member MEGA Board has the following responsibilities:
  • Approve and authorize High-Tech / High-Wage and Standard / Rural MEGA Tax credits
  • Approve and authorize Retention MEGA Tax credits  
  • Approve and authorize Anchor Jobs and Anchor District credits
  • Approve and authorize Federal Procurement Contracting credits
  • Approve and authorize Brownfield Redevelopment MBT Tax credits
  • Approve and authorize the use of school operating taxes for non-environmental Brownfield Tax Increment Financing
