The Parole Board consists of 10 members who are appointed by the Director of the Department of Corrections. The members of the Parole Board are appointed to terms of 4 years each. At least 4 members shall be persons who, at the time of their appointment, have never been employed by or appointed to a position in the Department of Corrections. The chairperson of the Parole Board is designated by the Director of the Department of Corrections. (Corrections Code of 1953 - Act 232 of 1953 – MCL 791.231a)
