The Michigan Unarmed Combat Commission is responsible for the regulation of professional boxing and mixed martial arts under PA 403 of 2004, as amended. The Commission is the successor to the Michigan Boxing Commission. A match or exhibition shall not be held or conducted within this state, except under a license issued by the department. The appointments of this board are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
The Commission consists of 11 members: 4 licensees in boxing, 4 licensees in mixed martial arts, and 3 public members. Each member serves 4 year terms and are subject to the advice and consent of the Senate.
