• The system is available throughout the year, allowing early childhood program providers to update their data as needed, with the initial snapshot occurring after the typical program start.
• All grant recipients are able to report data in the MSDS.

The Early Childhood Collection has been updated to a Single Certify Collection. There will be three Early Childhood Collections and schemas for 2011-2012. A single student will no longer appear in your Staging Area multiple times. You will submit one record for each student who received early childhood program services during the reporting period. For example, a student who received services during the fall reporting period, who also received services during the spring reporting period, would be included in both the Fall 2011 Early Childhood Collection and the Spring 2012 Early Childhood Collection.

You will make corrections, deletions or changes to certified records by decertifying the collection, making the updates and recertifying the collection prior to each reporting period's certification deadline.

For each of the above submission cycles, data may be reported for any child who received services at any time during the reporting period for one of the early childhood programs listed in the collection. Each reporting period must be certified on or before its certification date.
