District pupil membership count and participation data are collected through the Michigan Student Data System (MSDS). Local district and public school academy authorized users submit and validate data within the MSDS directly. Intermediate school district users have the ability to access data for all of their constituent districts through the MSDS as well. Files may be uploaded in XML format only. Data may also be entered manually online if needed. Please contact the software vendor used by your district for maintaining student data to ensure that your local student information system is updated and ready for any changes implemented for the 2012-2013 school year.
In order to meet state and federal reporting deadlines, it was necessary to push the certification deadline for the End-of-Year (EOY) 2012 General Collection forward to July 2, 2012. At that time, CEPI will analyze the certified student data and send e-mail communications to districts informing them of any possible anomalies. In order to allow districts the time to make any necessary data corrections, the EOY 2012 General Collection will re-open for approved data corrections requests only from July 12, 2012 through July 19, 2012.
