Radioactive Materials Unit
The Radioactive Materials Unit (517-335-2690) is responsible for naturally occurring radioactive material found in the oil, gas, brine, chemical, and water treatment industries subject to state control under the authority of the Public Health Code - Part 135 of 1978 PA 368, as amended. Michigan's Ionizing Radiation Rules contain the applicable regulatory requirements for protection of health, safety, and the environment.
