NPDES Fees

Agency: Environmental Quality


On April 22, 2004 legislation was passed that amended the Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act, 1994 PA 451 (NREPA).  This legislation authorized the Department to collect NPDES annual permit fees and NPDES Permit application fees.  The annual permit fee is due by January 15 of each year and the application fee is due when ever an application for permit action is submitted.

The NPDES Permit Fees legislation is required as a means to obtain the appropriate funding to effectively operate the NPDES program.  Provided below are links to various documents with information relating to the NPDES Permit fees.
