    Auto Recycling and Metal Processing

    Tracking and understanding all of the state and federal environmental regulations affecting auto recycling and metal processing can be a daunting task. This web site was created to serve as a central repository of environmental resources applicable to auto recyclers and metal processors.

    HAZARDOUS WASTE AND LIQUID INDUSTRIAL WASTE

    • Introduction to Hazardous Waste Regulations Recorded Webinars - three free, one hour, recorded, on-demand, webinars that help viewers understand and comply with the hazardous and liquid industrial waste regulations with ease.  Each webinar is delivered by inspection staff and is one hour.  Topics include:
      • waste characterization and generator status determination
      • generator accumulation and storage requirements
      • recordkeeping requirements and what to expect on inspection day
    • Generator Guidance - guidance on waste characterization, generator accumulation, manifesting and disposal requirements
    • Waste Type Guidance- guidance on antifreeze, batteries, used oil, electric lamps, electronics, and salvage yard wastes, and more
    • Inspection/Self Audit Forms- inspection checklists used by DEQ staff for the hazardous waste and liquid industrial waste inspections
    • Site Identification Notification- form and instructions for obtaining a Site (EPA) Identification Numbers
    • Uniform Manifests - instructions for ordering and completing a uniform manifest for transport and disposal of hazardous waste, liquid industrial waste, used oil, and PCB wastes
    • Transporters - laws/rules, permit/registration applications, participating transporters, etc for transport of hazardous waste and liquid industrial waste
