Is One License Enough?

If Your Company is Using Labels with Different Names and/or Addresses:

Every commercial feed label must show the complete name and principal mailing address of the licensee, exactly as it appears on the license. Use the following scenarios to determine if more than one license is needed:

1. ABC Company, 111 First Ave., New York, NY 10001 appears on the label. A valid Michigan Commercial Feed license must be held by ABC Company, 111 First Ave., New York, NY 10001.
2. ABC Company manufactures a commercial feed that is distributed by XYZ Company, Detroit, MI 48299. The label states: Manufactured by ABC Company, 111 First Ave., New York, NY 10001; Distributed by XYZ Company, Detroit, MI 48299. A valid Michigan Commercial Feed license must be held by either ABC Company, 111 First Ave., New York, NY 10001 or by XYZ Company, Detroit, MI 48299.
3. ABC Company manufactures a commercial feed that is distributed by XYZ Company, Detroit, MI 48299. The label states: Distributed by XYZ Company, Detroit, MI 48299. XYZ Company, Detroit, MI 48299, must hold a valid Michigan Commercial Feed license.
4. Alpha Feeds, Inc., 222 Main St., Los Angeles, CA 90095 holds a current Michigan license. Alpha Feeds also conducts business using several other assumed names. The various product lines each utilize a different assumed name on their labels, but the name Alpha Feeds, Inc. does not appear on the label. The addresses shown may or may not be the same as that shown on Alpha Feeds' license. A Michigan Commercial Feed license is required for each assumed name/address combination that appears independently on feed labels when the name Alpha Feeds, Inc. does not appear on the label. (Note: The term "assumed name" as used here refers to any name used by a company or one of its divisions, subsidiaries, etc. that differs from the name presented for use on a commercial feed license.)
5. Beta Mills, 212 Railroad Street, Niles, MI 49120 has additional branches in Marcellus, MI and in Shipshewana, IN. All three produce feeds labeled as manufactured by Beta Mills, but showing the address of the branch location only. All three distribute their commercial feeds in Michigan. Each location needs a separate Michigan Commercial Feed license.
