Exhibition Requirements for Livestock Exhibited in Michigan

A lot of hard work is involved in organizing and attending exhibitions, so it is always beneficial to look up the state requirements for each species involved. Whether you are looking for identification requirements, tips, or disease information you can find it here! If you do not find the information you are looking for here, please contact MDARD’s Customer Service Center at 1-800-292-3939.

There are three basic concerns when exhibiting animals:

1) Is the animal healthy? In other words, does it have all the required shots and/or tests completed? Are statements needed about showing signs of illness, coming from a herd with current illness, or a herd recovering from an illness?

2) Does the animal have all of the appropriate paperwork? In other words, does it have proper health certificates, proof of vaccinations?

3) Is the animal properly identified? In other words, does the animal have required tag(s), tattoo, RFID?
