|  2012 Summer Reading Program
Educators across the state emphasize the critical role that devoting regular time to reading over summer vacation plays in a successful return to school come Fall. The Summer Reading program at public libraries supports this goal by encouraging children, youth and families to read and helps maintain students' reading skills. To support Summer Reading, the Library of Michigan is a member of the Collaborative Summer Library Program (CSLP), a multi-state collaborative. Membership allows the Library of Michigan to provide CSLP programming manuals, artwork, incentive and publicity to Michigan public libraries.
