The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s free PreK program for eligible four-year-olds. Ranked #1 in the U.S., it’s a safe place where children learn how to get along with others, share, take turns, and make friends. Math, reading, and thinking skills are taught every day through fun, hands-on activities. GSRP will help make sure your child is ready for kindergarten and beyond.
For the 2025-26 school year, all families have access to free PreK through the Great Start Readiness Program, with priority given to those who need it most. Currently, enrollment priority is given to those at or below 400% of the federal poverty limit, or about $128,000 for a family for four. This process ensures that curricula align with Michigan’s Early Childhood Standards of Quality for Birth to Kindergarten and support high-quality, developmentally appropriate learning experiences for children from birth to age five.
This curriculum call is for:
New curricula that have not been approved in the last five years
Previously approved curricula that have undergone significant updates or changes
If your curriculum is designed for infants and toddlers (0-3) or preschool-aged children (3-5) and follows research-based best practices, we encourage you to submit an Intent to Apply form.
