Supply and Demand

The supply and demand rate indicates the number of unemployed people (supply) in relation to the number of available job advertisements (demand) within the state. The rate of 1.23 in September 2024 represented approximately 123 unemployed persons for every 100 available online advertisements. The rate is down over the month (1.3 in August) but up over the year (1.05 in September 2023). Over the year there was an increase in unemployed persons within the state as well as a decline in online job ads, each contributing to the increase in supply and demand ratio.

Occupations

The top five posted occupations in September 2024 were Retail salespersons, Registered nurses, First-line supervisors of retail sales workers, Fast food and counter workers, and Customer service representatives.
